Who Cares?
The Who Cares? Trust is primarily an organisation that works in support of children and young people who are living in the care of local authorities. We publish two quarterly magazines for children in care (Who Cares? for 13 + and Klic for 8 – 12 year olds) which are purchased by local authorities and contain much material originated by children themselves e.g. poems etc.
We have two websites – one specifically fro children in care called Who Cares? Xtra www.whocaresxtra.org.uk – launched in August 2007 and our corporate website for professionals www.thewhocarestrust.org.uk
Additionally, The Who Cares? Trust runs a development programme aiming to improve the outcomes of children in care in terms of their health, education, preparing for employment and independent living. We also work to influence policy and practice in the arena of Children’s Services. The development programmes culminate in the production of multi media materials and information for professionals, carers and young people.
We are committed to working to ensure that children and young people living in foster and residential care are given the best opportunities possible to enjoy and achieve to their full potential in a stable environment in which they feel safe.
