I am delighted to provide this introduction to the Black History Month Magazine and to acknowledge the contribution made by this annual event.
Black History Month is now a well-established part of the British calendar. It is a welcome and important celebration of history, arts and culture. An opportunity for us all to reflect on and celebrate the many important and positive contributions made over the years by Black and Ethnic Minority communities. We know that an understanding of history is key to learning more about ourselves and about others. discuss and pay tribute to the contribution that different communities have played in shaping our country. A country in which diversity is both a strength and a source of pride.
