Griots Black Cultural Fest is a unique affordable, family inclusive event, located in the largest county in Wales in the UK. The event is produced by Griots Productions, a nonprofit multicultural cooperative based in the Brecon Beacons.
One of our main goals is to develop an ongoing series of cultural events which provide unique community enhancing opportunities and better communication between rural and urban areas in the UK.

A weekend celebration of cross-cultural music and entertainment coinciding with Black History Month, IMPORT – a festival of urban music is a celebration of multicultural music and entertainment.
The event is centered in Cardiff Bay, hosted by two main historical venues, the Coal Exchange and the Point. The Point will be hosting lead comedy acts, poetry, steel pans and dancers on Friday 7 October. Shola Ama, DJ Raheem, Big John 2000, Sovereign Sound and V2 Crew will be providing a night of quality music at the Coal Exchange.
On Saturday 8 October, favourites such as Omar, Dawn Penn, Carroll Thompson, Anthony Johnson will be performing with local and up-and-coming hip hop and R&B talent supporting over the two days. Pubs in the Bay / Butetown are supporting the event by providing a variety of live music with jazz, blues, soul, funk, calypso and reggae, ensuring there is something for everyone.
A two-day ticket is available for both venues on Friday at £17.50. Whilst individual event tickets are £12.50 in advance for the Coal Exchange and £10 for the Point. To access all 3 venues for the two dates you pay one price of £23.50.
